iball 3.5g connect usb modem driver failed

I have windows 8.1 64 bit. Whenever i tried connecting iball 3.5g connect usb modem , it never detected sim and was getting message that driver installation failed.

 To solve this.


  1. Remove all softwares related to this modem
  2. Connect ur iBall USB modem
  3. Let the software install. Its ok, even if driver fails
  4. Now download rar file from this link
  5. http://admin.iball.co.in/File/Product/Drivers/Utility%20for%20WIN8.rar 
  6. Install file called "Modem_installation"
    1. Then go to path "C:\Program Files (x86)\iBall 3.5G Wireless Modem 3.0\Driver"
    2. You should see all the fodders related to your operating system
  7. Now we will open device manager
  8. press windows + X
  9. click on device manager
  10. check for Yellow balloon or section called Other Devices
  11. Right click and seclet Update driver software
  12. Click On Browse my computer for driver software
  13. Now go till the path mentioned in step 6 ->1
  14. Select the folder which belong to your operating system
  15. click ok
  16. Done

This should sove your problem and SIM should be detected. You need to follow this procedure 4 times, as there are 4 diffrent components for 4 balloon/hardwares.

      open file loacation then go back then go driver folder you will install 3 drivers boom

    Foll0w these steps and make your iball modem work on windows 8.1 and 10.



    first install the modem from cd drive(driver failed-leave it)

    now go to below folder

    for 64bit os- C:\Program Files (x86)\iBall 3.5G Wireless Modem 3.1\Driver\Win8_64

    for 32bit os-C:\Program Files \iBall 3.5G Wireless Modem 3.1\Driver\Win8_32



    now install the first two files(right click on them and click install).



    you are done.

    First install the 3g connect software. Then install modem installation file downloaded from above link. Right click the first two files(cmnsmdm and cmnsser) located on C:\Program Files (x86)\iBall 3.5G Wireless Modem 3.1\Driver\Win8_64 and select install. That's it..

    Thank you very much. This worked on Windows 10. I knew the procedure basically, but I didn't know that you have to do this to all of the 4 unknown USB devices. Thank You once again.

    its not working as when i click on update driver it is searching several minutes and then saying that "we cannot find the driver USB MODEM " and ends up with saying go to windows update and see available drivers
    and at last no driver was found by the windows update system.... plzzzzz reply fast i am waiting ....

    After connecting dongle to desktop it shows full network.But when I hit connect it shows 'connect failed'. But when I connect dongle to my laptop it works without any problem.

    I am using this method and use the dongle in my windows10 (64 bit) from last one month but suddenly its stop working its says failed to dial-up and ther 3 buttoms appear error info redial and ok when i click on error info itssays6 628 the connection was terminated by the remote computer before it could be completed.completed.and i am unable to connect the network. . .
